Manufacturing Month, Events...And MORE! OH MY!

New Mexico Business Coalition declares October as Manufacturing Month. We want to promote manufacturers during the month of October. NMBC is looking to partner with manufactures who would want to host a manufacturing event. Read more information HERE!

We understand that many do not have the time to plan a manufacturing event which is why we will do all the heavy lifting. Read on to see why manufacturers should host an event:

Manufacturers in New Mexico account for 4.60 percent of the total output in the state, employing 3.2 percent of the workforce. Total output from manufacturing was $4.24 billion in 2015. In addition, there were 26,600 manufacturing employees in New Mexico in 2016, with an average annual compensation of $60,265 in 2015.

Manufacturing Day is all about celebrating manufacturing. By providing an opportunity to focus collective attention on manufacturing, MFG DAY aims to : 1. Empower Manufactures 2. Change public perceptions of manufacturing 3. Introduce people to manufacturing careers 4. Draw attention to the roles manufactures play in their communities 5. Underscore the economic and social significance of manufacturing.

If you are interested in finding out more information on hosting an event please contact Rebekah at rebekah@nmbizcoalition.org

Heroes 2017 Banquet review: “SMASHING SUCCESS!”

It was a full house at this year's, SOLD OUT, Heroes Banquet! The exhilaration felt throughout the evening is short of just pure magic. To be able to have the pleasure of honoring not only our fallen heroes, but those who are actively serving and our young community leaders, leaves us feeling uplifted all year long! Looking forward to next year’s event!

STAND WITH ABQ SMALL BUSINESSES!

In 2011, Denver voters said NO to a similar "sick leave" law — but, did you know, that the law Denver voted down was actually MUCH LESS EXTREME & MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE than the proposed law on our ballot?

Denver voted NO against an onerous and job-killing ordinance, and look at Denver now — thriving. Let's follow Denver's smart business lead, and VOTE AGAINST the proposed "sick leave" ordinance. We all agree paid and earned time off is important. There MUST BE BETTER WAY than mandating it through 7 pages of job-killing legalese.
