Did NM Secretary of State (SOS) send voter registration information cards to 100,000 undocumented immigrants in NM? Recently the NM SOS sent about 460,000 postcards to New Mexicans who are not currently registered to vote, encouraging eligible NM residents to get registered for the upcoming election. The problem is, according to SOS Candidate Nora Espinoza, that New Mexico has 100,000 people with NM drivers’ licenses who are NOT U.S. Citizens and the mailing could be problematic. SOS Candidate Maggie Toulouse Oliver, said (through a campaign spokesperson) she is supportive of the effort to reach out to eligible but unregistered voters. What will NM voters think about this issue? More on this controversy HERE.
NMBC asked Nora Espinoza and Maggie Toulouse Oliver where they stand on the issues of Voter Fraud, Voter ID and Same Day Voter Registration during recent Candidate Job Interviews: You can hear where the SOS candidates stand on important issues in their own words. Will the NM Public Regulation Commission (PRC) Support PNM’s use of Reliable, Affordable Nuclear Energy in New Mexico or bend to pressure from ‘Keep it in the Ground’ activists? NMBC led the charge recently, energizing New Mexicans, industry and business groups to let the PRC know they support PNM’s continued use of power produced at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station.
Representative Rod Montoya also weighed in with an Op-Ed titled, ‘PRC needs to act responsibly for all New Mexicans,’ that was co-signed by Reps James Strickler, Sharon Clahchischilliage, David Gallegos, Larry Scott, Cathrynn Brown, Candy Spence Ezzell, Larry Larranaga, and Jim Townsend.
NMBC applauds Rep Montoya and the other State Reps who encouraged the PRC to focus on what’s best for all New Mexicans! Will they listen? The PRC is set to make a decision on the PNM/Palo Verde issue tomorrow – NMBC will be there and will let voters know how PRC Commissioners vote.
