New EPA Chief puts Obama era Methane Rule on Hold for 90 Days: NMBC appreciates EPA’s Scott Pruitt delaying implementation of the Venting and Flaring Rule for a minimum of 90 days. That will allow time for a thorough analysis of existing rules, which we believe sufficient, to be completed. The last thing this state needs are more oil and gas wells shut in. That is the expected outcome for marginal wells when the cost of compliance is up to $50,000 per well, Several media outlets contacted NMBC for comment.
