Another New Tax? Vote is Tonight

Public comment will be taken prior to the scheduled vote TODAY, Tuesday, 6/25/13, 5:00 PM, so please plan to attend the hearing and speak on this important issue – you can sign up online to speak HERE. You can also contact County Commissioners and express your opinion HERE.

Health Insurance: Passing the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) without reading it is proving to be disastrous. Sold to the public as a way to lower healthcare costs, the law is actually requiring insurance companies to raise their premiums. APS health insurance premiums, for example, will go up by 5% beginning next January. Read the article HERE. And there is more. NM Insurance Superintendent John Franchini says healthy insurance customers can expect to pay the same increased rates as those who are not healthy. Read more HERE.

Get Educated, Get Involved: New Mexico deserves better than elected officials who pass legislation without reading it. We need elected officials who consider and understand the costs of legislation or regulation they are forcing on New Mexico. The New Mexico Business Coalition (NMBC) provides great opportunities for you to get involved. We do this through our emails and live at BASH (Business and Social Hour) events in Albuquerque this Thursday, 6/27/2013, and in Las Cruces on 6/11/13. Please join us for these fun, informative events.
