NM Dairy farmers to produce clean energy using cow manure

Virginia-based Dominion Energy and Vanguard renewables Ag of Massachusetts have announced a $200 million partnership that will be funding projects at dairy farms in New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Nevada and Georgia. The agricultural and energy partnership will focus on creating methane biodigesters that will extract usable methane from decomposing manure.

This mutually beneficial partnership will create a new revenue source for dairy farmers while also creating a clean and renewable energy source enough to power  2,800 – 4,000 homes. The only by product of the commercial scale biodigester would be nutrient rich and methane free fertilizer. Read more HERE.
