Dangerous oil field roads highlight the need for infrastructure improvements

Over the last three years the Permian Oil Basin that spans Southern New Mexico and Texas has become the busiest oil field in the country, boasting an astonishing 4 million barrels a day, and helping to edge Russia out of the top spot as the world’s largest oil producer. But this tremendous increase in production is not without its share of growing pains, and infrastructure necessities that make for dangerous conditions for locals and businesses operating in the Permian Basin. The need for infrastructure and road improvements to our oil producing hotspots is a non-partisan issue that needs to be addressed quickly for the safety of our workers and local residents.
