Freedom and Liberty are Worth Fighting For

The New Mexico Business Coalition (NMBC) salutes the men and women who died fighting for the freedom and liberty that make the United States of America the greatest nation in the world. We honor our veterans and those who serve today in our armed forces defending the values and the U.S. Constitution. But the NMBC reminds New Mexicans and all Americans of the warning given by a founding father, Patrick Henry, “The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government – lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.” As we celebrate our military heroes this week, remember that ‘we the people’ have the obligation and power to defend, protect and maintain the founding principles that made this county great. Our freedom or liberty will not prevail if we allow progressive, socialist driven elected officials to dominate our state and national government. The NMBC provides New Mexicans great opportunities to get involved – to get in the fight. See below for some upcoming events.

Children’s Freedom Festival – June 9, 2013. “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. The only way they can inherit the freedom we have known is if we fight for it, protect it, defend it and then hand it to them with the well thought lessons of how they in their lifetime must do the same.” Ronald Reagan, 40th President. The Children’s Freedom Festival, put on by NMBC 2012 NMBC Community HERO of the year, Marianne Chiffelle, is a great event to make sure that freedom does not end with the next generation.
