Manufacturing workers enjoy the best job security in the private sector and help improve the overall economy. The New Mexico Business Coalition (NMBC) is working to bring certifications and training to New Mexico. This initiative will equip people with great jobs as well as help the manufacturing industry employ qualified workers.

The New Mexico Business Coalition (NMBC) wants to ensure that New Mexico has a pro-business environment for manufacturing. That’s why we are working on tax-reform, energy and economic incentives but we also understand the importance of having skilled workers ready to enter the New Mexican manufacturing industry.

NMBC sees a dire need in our state to help people find great job opportunities, as well as resolve the manufacturing industry’s need for qualified workers. It is important to educate kids, teenagers and young adults about the career opportunities the manufacturing industry can provide.

During the month of October, we will be promoting Manufacturing Month in New Mexico. Check out Marpac Custom who will be hosting a manufacturing tour on October 17th, 2017.

Marpac Custom performs contract cutting and sewing of textiles for customers who design, market, and sell their own products. Items range from dog collars to baby clothing to slings. Production volume ranges from 20 to several thousand.

See a variety of textile products being cut and sewn with a state-of-the art computer fabric-cutting machine, computerized sewing machines, as well as industrial hand-operated sewing. There will be three 1-hour tours (9:00 am, 11:00 am & 12:00 pm) on Tuesday, October 17. The minimum age accompanied by an adult is 7. Closed-toe shoes should be worn.
