Governor Issues statewide “stay at home” order

On Monday afternoon Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham ordered a statewide “stay at home” order for all non-essential employees. Hospitals and health clinics, grocery stores, pharmacies, childcare centers and farms are among the operations that are deemed essential and can remain open. Also included in the announcement were new instructions for individuals to limit gatherings to 5 people in order to cut back on vectors of transmission for the virus.

The state Department of Health says it has detected “community spread” of the disease in Bernalillo County, meaning at least some of the infections are the result of the virus moving from person to person inside New Mexico, not simply the result of exposure due to travel outside the state. NMBC encourages you to follow the guidelines set by the Governor and state health officials and continue to stay updated by checking the New Mexico Department of Health website HERE.
