As our month long manufacturing celebration drives on, there is more good news from the state Economic Development Department: global thermoform packaging giant Prent Corporation will be opening their latest facility in Santa Teresa NM!  Prent Corporation produces the form fitting packaging used for medical equipment, electronics, and other consumer industry products. Prent will be building a 62,500 square foot facility with the capacity to double its footprint in the coming years, and expects to create 85 new jobs with an average wage of full-time employees is expected to be $26.14, and $15.75 for part timers. Prent Corporation plans to invest $12.5 million into the NM expansion and the New Mexico Economic Development Department is supporting the move with $500,000 in LEDA funding, as well as receiving economic assistance from Doña Ana County.

Prent Corporation is the latest Manufacturing firm to expand into the booming industrial and business park in Santa Teresa, joining the likes of metal manufacturer Xxentria and and the telecommunications firm Commscope Connectivity Solutions just in the last couple of months. Manufacturing firms like Prent and Xxentria provide quality, high paying jobs for New Mexicans. The rapid growth of the Santa Teresa borderplex is aided by the newly implemented USMCA trade agreement that NMBC was the leading New Mexican advocate for. We’re proud to see more firms benefiting from this landmark trade deal that is already bringing jobs and revenue to our state. New Mexico still has much to do in creating a business friendly climate but the USMCA is already demonstrating the tremendous potential New Mexico has to offer. For more information click HERE.
