Last week, your New Mexico Congressional Delegation voted on a major tax bill and multiple immigration bills, improving our nation’s safety. So how did your delegates vote this past week?

  • H.R. 6976: Any immigrants without documentation who have been convicted of or admitted to a DWI will be deported, regardless of the severity of the crime. The bill passed, yet U.S. Reps Teresa Ledger-Fernandez and Melanie Stansbury voted ‘NO.’
  • H.R. 6678: Any immigrants without documentation who have been convicted of or admitted to Social Security fraud will be deported, regardless of the severity of the crime. The bill passed, yet again, U.S. Reps Teresa Ledger-Fernandez and Melanie Stansbury voted ‘NO.’
  • H.R. 5585: Anyone who is operating a vehicle and intentionally avoids a U.S. Border Patrol agent or any officer assisting U.S. Border Patrol, within 100 miles, will be jailed, fined, and/or both. The bill passed, yet once again, U.S. Reps Teresa Ledger-Fernandez and Melanie Stansbury voted ‘NO.’
Thankfully, U.S. Representatives Teresa Ledger-Fernandez, Melanie Stansbury, and Gabriel Vasquez, with U.S. President Joe Biden and U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich are all up for reelection in November. Voters have control and can decide for themselves if it’s time for a change in Congress.
