Another injection of federal assistance for businesses is rapidly making it’s way through the legislative branch. On Tuesday the Senate passed a $484 billion aid package to bolster small businesses and hospitals ravaged by the coronavirus pandemic and expand testing for Covid-19. The original $350 billion in support funding for the critical Paycheck Protection Program dried up faster than anticipated, leaving businesses struggling to keep their payrolls afloat. This most recent measure will grant another $310 billion in to the key loan program and help keep employees on small company payrolls.
After passing unanimously in the Senate on Tuesday, the measure will now head to the House, which hopes to have it approved by Thursday. President Trump has signaled that he will sign the bill without delay. Read more HERE.
