CALLS TO ACTION
Although we don’t have any current Calls to Action, NMBC’s grassroots advocacy project: Better Together New Mexico, may have one that interests you – click HERE to take a look.
INACTIVE: Stop the Mandates and Regulations on NM Businesses!
Ask Legislators to vote 'NO' on Senate Bill 11 (SB11) Paid Family Medical Leave Act. (PFMLA)! This act forces employees and employers to pay out of pocket into a 12 week PTO which would harm our already fragile businesses and the workers they employ.
INACTIVE: Support the new KBI- Parental Rights APS Policy!
The APS School Board is considering this new policy: KB1- Parent Rights and Responsibilities. This is a good Parental Rights Policy that we can get behind. However, the progressives are already trying to shut it down with commentary and demonstrations, so we need to show strong support in every way possible.
INACTIVE: Encourage City Councilors to override the mayor's veto on Homeless Camps!
The 6-3 moratorium vote has been vetoed by the mayor but the city councilors can still override his veto! Take 30 seconds to send an email to those who voted in favor, encouraging them to stand firm with 1000s of voters who are against these camps.
INACTIVE: Ask ABQ Councilors to say NO to numerous government sanctioned homeless 'campsites' scattered around Albuquerque!
Albuquerque has spent millions of dollars on underused facilities for the homeless and mentally challenged. Now its proposing to allow homeless 'encampments' with sites for vehicles, tents, and other temporary shelters throughout the city
INACTIVE: Tell NM Senator Ben Ray Lujan to Retract his Misinformation Bill from the U.S. Congress!
If you disagree with your tax dollars being used to promote “official” health information and to disrupt the free flow of communication that our country was founded on, please take a moment to send an email to Senator Lujan. This will only take a minute, and it is important for letting Senator Lujan know the desires of the people he is representing.
INACTIVE: New Mexico can help U.S. restore Energy Independence - Let's do This!
It's time for immediate increase in oil and fuel production in New Mexico and the U.S. to alleviate us from being dependent on other countries for energy. Use the form below to quickly send an email to Governor Lujan Grisham and your State and Federal Legislators.
INACTIVE: Say NO to State Controlled Utilities in NM.
Can you imagine the state or a municipality, like the city of Albuquerque, having control over your electricity? Consider the power the governor has enjoyed over the past two years of opening and closing businesses, telling us when and where we can shop, and whether our kids could go to school. She discussed turning off the power to companies that were not abiding by her ‘emergency health orders’. Think what would happen if she had the authority to turn off your heat, air conditioning, or appliances.
INACTIVE: Voters Should Have the Right to Recall Elected Officials.
HJR 12 is a proposed Constitutional Amendment which would allow the recall of elected officials in New Mexico. Many people have asked how we can stop the Governor's overreach of power, and this is one answer!
INACTIVE: Stop the Radical 'Green' Agenda.
HJR 2 and SJR 2 are resolutions that ask voters in the next election to say 'yes' or 'no' to a constitutional amendment. These resolutions propose to amend the New Mexico Constitution to provide "environmental rights." This amendment allows individuals to sue government agencies when they feel their environmental rights have been compromised.
INACTIVE: Protect Your 2nd Amendment Rights New Mexico.
HB 156 is a proposed ban on firearm magazines that hold more than 15 rounds. If you own a magazine that holds more than 15 rounds, you would have to destroy your magazine or you would become a felon if the bill becomes law.
INACTIVE: HB 6 Clean Future Act is the Governor's attempt to outdo California.
HB 6 goes further than a U.S. model approach and seeks to have the most stringent requirements in the world. This legislation is more stringent than California, a state with vastly stronger resources for compliance, and the Paris Agreement.
