The New Mexico Business Coalition (NMBC) encourages Albuquerque voters to reject ‘tax and spend’ policy and the officials or candidates who push this agenda. We need to support job growth in private enterprise by electing pro-business candidates who favor open government and who will listen to the whole community, not just special interest groups.
2. An historic ballot initiative for all Albuquerque residents will also be decided today. The ‘Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Ordinance,’ would prevent abortion after 20 weeks. Currently Albuquerque is known as the Late Term Abortion Capital with NO LIMIT on when a baby in utero can be killed.
The New Mexico Business Coalition needs to set the record straight on this ordinance. The proposed ordinance will:
a) Limit abortions to those occurring within the first 20 weeks (five months) of pregnancy;
b) Allow for life-saving techniques to save the life of the mother.
The ordinance DOES NOT stop all abortions nor does it allow the mother’s life to be at risk due to pregnancy complications.
Please exercise your right to vote!
