IRS Gone Wild – Again!

Based on guidance contained in IRS Notice 2015-17, beginning July 1, the IRS can fine companies who reimburse employee healthcare expenses $100 per day, per employee.  Over the course of a year that’s $36,500 per employee, up to a max per company of $500,000 per year.

This is an example of anti-business government regulations that must be stopped.  Fortunately there have been bills introduced in Congress that could take care of the problem.  The Senate and House bills to stop the IRS from the above fines on small business can be viewed HERE and HERE.

Take Action:  The NMBC encourages you to contact the NM Congressional Delegation urging their support of Senate Bill 1697 and House Bill 2911.  Send us a note at nmbiz@nmbizcoalition.org telling us you called or emailed.
