Issues with the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission

Should a government agency be above the law? The New Mexico Public Regulation Commission (NMPRC) seems to think so!

Recently the NMPRC held a meeting to discuss an important PNM issue impacting New Mexico’s electricity generation. The problem is that they held that meeting privately, which goes against the ”Open Meetings Act.”  This is the second time this year that they’ve violated this law and because of that, ‘Every citizen should be outraged,’ stated NMBC president Carla Sonntag to the New Mexico Sun.

This meeting not only goes against the law, but doesn’t allow for New Mexicans to have a say in the democratic process, which also violates the U.S. Constitution.
