“New Mexico is a state with a diverse and rich manufacturing history, and with this partnership, we can work toward ensuring manufacturing success in the future,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “Our state partners, like the NMBC, play a critical role in connecting, informing and advocating for state manufacturers regarding federal legislation and regulations. With 27,200 manufacturers in New Mexico, we are pleased to have the NMBC as an essential statewide resource.”

The NMBC is a nonpartisan advocacy group representing businesses of all sizes, employees and New Mexican families throughout the state.

“Joining with the NAM enhances our advocacy for a pro-business environment in New Mexico so businesses can flourish and provide more jobs,” said NMBC President Carla Sonntag “With New Mexico’s focus on bringing manufacturers to the state, the partnership between NMBC and the NAM will provide strength to accomplishing that mission.” Concerning national issues of importance, Sonntag added, “We appreciate the efforts the NAM has made on federal issues that affect New Mexico including opposition to the president’s proposed regulations on ozone. If enacted, the proposed costly and overreaching ozone requirements would be a job killer across the state while providing no significant environmental benefits.”
