Due to the current COVID-19 crisis, Unemployment Insurance (UI) has become a significant concern for all businesses being affected by the crisis. NMBC has been on the news at 6 pm and 10 pm and in the Journal regarding a press release and letter to the Governor calling for increased protections. We appreciate the Governor and the Secretary of Workforce Solutions saying the department won’t charge individual businesses for their specific UI costs from this crisis, however it is not the solution we believe businesses should have. We are in conversations with both the Governor’s staff and several key legislators to provide a better solution during the upcoming special legislative session. Read more HERE.
