Our First Event of 2025 was a Massive Success!

Last night’s 2025 Pre-Legislative BASH (Business and Social Hour) was a massive success! The evening’s special guest, Senate Minority Leader Bill Sharer, delivered an inspiring message about unity and driving positive change in our state. He offered attendees insight into the challenges legislators face and the best ways to get their attention.

Senator Sharer encouraged attendees to engage directly with the legislative process, such as attending sessions at the Capitol, meeting with legislators, and testifying in committee hearings. He concluded his comments by saying that New Mexicans do have the power to influence meaningful change. Emails, calls, and in-person efforts can truly impact how legislators vote. After his comments, he stuck around to answer questions and chat with attendees.

NMBC also shared updates on key bills and initiatives likely to pop up during the upcoming 60-day session. We broke down some easy ways that New Mexicans can get involved, make their voices heard, and stay informed. To wrap up, we shared some optimism, reminding everyone that there’s real momentum to improve our state – and with teamwork, there’s hope for NM.

We also heard from the New Mexico Automotive Industry Alliance (NMAIA) President, Marc Powell. He highlighted how the importance of the auto industry working together to tackle crime and shared concerns about how a few proposed bills could hurt the dealerships within their network.

The night wasn’t just about great speakers – it was also a chance to connect with great community leaders, including several senators who joined us, enjoy a fantastic meal from Tomasita’s, and walk away with valuable insights and a new sense of hope for NM. It was truly a BASH to remember!
