Planned Parenthood & Taxpayers

On May 16th, majority of the Albuquerque city council voted to help fund Planned Parenthood.

At that meeting, majority of the city councilors decided to give $250,000 of taxpayer dollars to fund the organization. This “non-profit” currently makes $1.3 billion a year on the services they provide and based on that amount, they aren’t in need of anymore funding. Additionally, the taxpayer money doesn’t reflect the values, opinions or hearts of those taxpayers and seems to be a significant misuse of that money.

When that same money could be better spent on increasing police presence around the city, assisting the homeless in finding transitional housing, or anything else that will help ongoing, unsolved issues right now, why did many of the city councilors vote to give all that money to this organization?

In reality, this isn’t simply money being given away, it actually shows the true colors and priorities of the city as a whole. The issue is that their priority isn’t the people they claim to care about, but rather wherever the money is.

Although many city councilors voted in support, one in particular voted against the use of taxpayer money and isn’t letting go on this issue. See that point of view and additional context by clicking or tapping HERE
