Santa Fe County Next? Bernalillo lost its fight against raising the minimum wage and it appears that the movement has not stopped there. Santa Fe has a minimum wage of $10.51 and some are hoping to implement this wage county wide. Read more here.
“Hope” Looks Dim for Small Business Owners: The implications of Obamacare are coming out as time passes. What was promised to be a health care reform to assist small businesses in managing health care offerings is showing to be costing them. Some states can expect their small-group premiums to raise 13-23 percent on average. With premiums rising and very few options, businesses are reporting that they are having to cut benefits and hours, freeze hiring and even fire current employees.
Get Educated, Get Involved: New Mexico deserves better than elected officials who pass legislation without reading it. We need elected officials who consider and understand the costs of legislation or regulation they are forcing on New Mexico. The New Mexico Business Coalition (NMBC) provides great opportunities for you to get involved. We do this through our emails and live at BASH (Business and Social Hour) events in Las Cruces this Thursday, 6/11/13. Please join us for these fun, informative events.
