Neither President Biden nor Fed Chairman Powell wants to use the ‘R’ (recession) word, but another ‘R’ word (reality), is taking hold. While the President says he wants to do something about the highest inflation in 40 years, the last thing he wants to talk about in a midterm election year is a recession. The Feds, which set fiscal policy that could reduce inflation, also steers clear of the ‘R’ word.
