U.S. Attorney General William Barr visits NM to support crackdown on crime and court reform

A joint federal, state, local and regional law enforcement initiative calledOperation triple Beam” resulted in the arrest of 327 violent criminals from across New Mexico. U.S. Attorney General William Barr cited an increase in drug production and use as the main reason people commit violent crimes in New Mexico. He also took a swipe at the “revolving door” of NM’s criminal justice system saying “It’s not doing its job of keeping dangerous criminals off the street.” Read more HERE.

These comments from U.S. Attorney General William Barr are all the more poignant as Albuquerque is already on track to have another record setting year for number of homicides and New Mexico as a whole is ranked as one of the 2 most dangerous states in the country. Without a change in our state’s crime epidemic we will continue to drive away businesses and stifle development and economic progress.
