Governor Lujan Grisham has decided to use a lottery/sweepstakes type promotion as incentive for New Mexicans to get what some call a vaccine and others call an experimental treatment. The Vax 2 the Max Sweepstakes offers $10 million cash and other prizes as incentives to persuade New Mexicans to receive free, emergency use approved Covid shots.

The $10 million is coming from federal stimulus tax dollars and some legislators from both parties have objected to the Governor (again) overstepping executive level power when it is the legislative branch that has the power to allocate how tax dollars are spent.
