Take Note from Greece: Our nation celebrated its birthday this weekend, and freedom is on our minds. While contemplating our freedoms, we should take a close look at what happened when Greek politicians handed out too much without requiring something in return. The government of Greece defaulted on a billion-dollar debt recently, and have about $86 billion owed by their citizens in unpaid taxes. Greece spends 17.5 percent on pensions as a proportion of its GDP. The U.S.? 24 percent. Americans need to decide what is more important – free stuff or continuation of our economic freedom and prosperity. Otherwise we may end up in the same boat as Greece. Read more HERE.
Living Wage Costing Santa Fe Jobs? According to Glassdoor Economic Research, Santa Fe’s employment rate has dropped 5% since 2009. Their “Recovery Index” study ranks Santa Fe at 320 out of 327 cities for their employment and wage increases – and Albuquerque at 154 out of 327 with a 5% employment rate increase.
