We CAN Save the American Dream

The Bernalillo County Commission has scheduled a minimum wage hearing for April 23, at 5:00 pm, in the Albuquerque

/Bernalillo County Government, Vincent E. Griego Chambers, Concourse Level II. Commissioners will consider raising the minimum wage to $8.50/hour and indexing it to inflation (where it will increase automatically but never adjust downward in times of recession.) You can bet there will be a group of progressive, nonprofit staff being paid to rattle off prepared talking points in favor of this issue.

Plan now to be a part of the NMBC crowd who will attend and speak up for working families, our kids and seniors by speaking against this job killing measure. You can also let the Commissioners know that raising the minimum wage is bad for our economy by signing a statewide, online ‘Petition for Business Owners Opposed to Raising the Minimum Wage’ here or sending your message to them at Commission@bernco.gov.

The NMBC does not agree and believes we can educate voters about economic freedom, free enterprise and how each generation CAN be more prosperous than their parents. But we must act now to help our youth understand the fight is for their future. READ MORE HERE.

The U.S. Government and some New Mexico elected officials place the burden to pay for these programs squarely on the job generators who are owners of small businesses.

Here is a perfect example. The true costs of ObamaCare are now coming into focus, and it’s bad news for businesses. Some health insurers are privately warning brokers that premiums for many individuals and small businesses could increase sharply next year because of the ‘Affordable Health Care Act, with rates more than doubling. Some REAL ‘Hope and Change’ in Washington
If you look for it, there is confirmation that some elected officials are listening to the message NMBC carries. Last month, members of the U.S. Senate voted to kill a tax that was hidden in one of the many pages of the ObamaCare law.
