The US national debt recently hit $34 trillion dollars. That means $2 billion tax dollars per day are being spent on debt interest payments alone. With roughly 330 million U.S. residents (noted in the 2022 census) the per man/woman/child portion of the national debt is over $103,000 each! It doesn’t take an economist to understand that the current level of spending and debt growth is unsustainable.

The good news is that New Mexicans have an opportunity to make changes to address this (and other issues) at the federal level. How? With their vote!

U. S. Senator Martin Heinrich, U.S. Representatives Teresa Ledger Fernandez, Melanie Stansbury, and Gabriel Vasquez along with U.S. President Joe Biden will be on the 2024 ballot. Voters (including you) have control and can decide for if it’s time for a change in Congress. You can count on NMBC to provide valuable voter information prior to election day that will help voters make informed decisions.
