There is no doubt New Mexico has a different path ahead. Whether it will be good or bad is up to those elected and those of us outside the immediate system. There will be more on that to follow.
What I hope right now is that we will first and foremost get back to respectful dialogue and putting others first. We need to unite our efforts and commit to doing what is best for our state – not what is best for a party or its platform.
Honoring our Heroes
Right now, we can come together and honor our first responders – some who gave a lot and someone who gave it all. On Friday, 11/16/18, NMBC will honor the family of John Cammack, a volunteer firefighter who lost his life defending others from a fire among others. The keynote speaker will be Brigadier General Greg Zanetti, U.S. Army (Ret.). If you want to be a part of a touching and meaningful celebration of often unsung heroes, get your
tickets as the event will soon sell out.
Call to Action
Tonight, the APS school board will vote to put a property tax increase on a mail-in ballot initiative for February. Because of automatic property tax increases every year guaranteed by legislation and enacted by the Bernalillo County Clerk, NMBC encourages you to contact the APS board and tell them what you think about another property tax increase. You can contact them here or better yet, show up and tell them personally how you feel. 5:00 pm, John Milne Community Board Room, Alice and Bruce King Educational Complex, 6400 Uptown Blvd. NE.
