Through your tax dollars, a new homeless shelter will be coming to Albuquerque!

Local funding from taxpayers, totaling $15 million, is currently available for the city crews to start converting the Gibson Medical Center into a shelter for women and the homeless population who want off the streets. The city’s goal by 2023 are 100 beds and by 2025, 350 beds.

Crews have already started working on this new facility to reach next years goal. This new shelter will help much of the homeless population to stay safe, off the streets, and get back on their feet, which is the ultimate goal. Read more HERE.
