Taxed Enough Already or Want More Government Forced Income Redistribution? We all know today is TAX DAY. This day symbolizes to many Americans the two sides of an important public policy: 1. Those who gladly pay fair taxes to support constitutional government services; 2. Those who believe ever increasing taxes are a valid method of income redistribution.
Come out this afternoon, Tuesday, April 15, 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and join others at the Albuquerque Tea Party Tax Day Rally. The location for the main event is 6615 Menaul Boulevard NE, directly across the street from Coronado Mall. Come out and join New Mexico Business Coalition (NMBC) President, Carla Sonntag, who will be speaking, and have some fun on TAX DAY.
********************** TRUTH WARNING**********************

The NMBC does not care who you are, what position you are seeking, or the party in which you are registered. Tell the truth or we will tell it for you!
VOTERS: The NMBC has some useful tips to help you determine if a candidate is telling you the truth. If you have doubts about information you hear, see, or receive, please send it to the NMBC and we will research it for you. Click HERE for detailed SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT tips.
GRT May Need Reboot: The Gross Receipts Tax (GRT) in New Mexico is unique to the state. The GRT was set up as a way to bring income when a large majority of property was owned by the federal government. At one time, it proved to be beneficial to the state, but is it time to rethink things? “The problem is the world changed, the economy changed, and we haven’t changed. It’s not 1966 anymore,” said New Mexico Tax Research Institute President Richard Anklam. Read more in the Albuquerque Journal article HERE.
Register for the Las Cruces BASH (Business and Social Hour): Excitement is growing as we gear up for the Pre-Primary Las Cruces BASH on May 8 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at La Posta de Mesilla. Join us as we hear from candidates in the Dona Ana County area discuss the influence that the 2014 election will have on the business environment. Seating is limited — RSVP Today! Here are some of the elected officials and candidates who will be at the BASH: U.S. Senate Candidate David Clements, House District Candidates Betty Bishop, Neal Hooks, Andy Nunez, Rick Little and John Zimmerman.
