ABQ Sick Leave Ordinance – important court hearing this Thursday: The controversial Albuquerque sick leave ordinance will be considered in the Bernalillo County District Court this Thursday, August 10, at 9:00 am. As part of the Albuquerque Coalition for a Healthy Economy, NMBC is standing with others challenging the legality of the ballot initiative process. Having the presence of the business community in the courtroom is critical. The groups formerly known as ACORN, now called ‘Organizers in the Land of Enchantment (Ole),’ are pushing for the sick leave ordinance and will have a large presence. We should too.
WHEN: Thursday, August 10, 2017, 9:00 A.M. and WHERE: Bernalillo County Courthouse, 400 Lomas, NW, ROOM 710. Show your support in Judge Shannon Bacon’s Courtroom. Don’t forget…no cell phones allowed in the Courthouse.
“Hard times don’t create heroes…it is during the hard times when the ‘hero’ within us is revealed.” Bob Riley. The NMBC Heroes Banquet on September 8, at the Hyatt Regency Albuquerque, will be to honor heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice and celebrate others in our state who are still serving. The keynote speaker will be New Mexico’s own decorated Hero, USAF Senior Master Sergeant Thomas Case, a two time Silver Star recipient. Join NMBC and Master of Ceremonies Nancy Laflin, KOAT 7 Investigative Reporter, for a special and uplifting evening.
