When Faith Overcomes Doubt and Love Triumphs Over Hate…

As we focus on time with family and friends this holiday season, NMBC wishes you all the love and joy that the celebration of Christmas brings.

From President Ronald Reagan’s 1981 message, a reminder of the true meaning of Christmas:

“The Nativity story of nearly twenty centuries ago is known by all faiths as a hymn to the brotherhood of man. For Christians, it is the fulfillment of age-old prophecies and the reaffirmation of God's great love for all of us. Through a generous Heavenly Father's gift of His Son, hope and compassion entered a world weary with fear and despair and changed it for all time.

NMBC Fights Washington D.C. Job Killing Regs, and We Won!

NMBC was Proud to Take a Stand with the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) recently in a court case against a Department of Labor overtime rule that would have taken effect on December 1. Along with a coalition of other associations and 21 states, NMBC supported the NAM Manufacturers’ Center for Legal Action (MCLA) in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The great news for New Mexicans who are already struggling with some of the highest unemployment rates in the nation is that we succeeded in delaying, if not stopping implementation of the job killing rule!

GivingTuesday: Tax Deductible Donations for a Better New Mexico

The work done by New Mexico Business Coalition (NMBC) and our sister organization, Rebound New Mexico (RNM), is changing New Mexico. You can support that work with a tax-deductible contribution to RNM, which can also help your year-end tax planning!

NMBC and RNM exist because New Mexico needs a reasonable government that supports business operations – not hinders them. NMBC and RNM are nonpartisan grassroots coalitions that bring New Mexicans, like you, together to make that happen. While NMBC focuses on policy, accountability and voter education, RNM works to break the chain of generational poverty in New Mexico, empowering New Mexicans to achieve prosperity without dependence on government.

Setting the Record Straight – Hitting Some New Lows

Guilt by association? Some campaigns have hit new lows with pointless accusations that say nothing, are based on nothing and have no point.

Case in point: Elizabeth Thomson’s mailer against Christina Hall. The flier states, “If she goes to Santa Fe, Christina Hall will join Republicans who voted against hiring more police officers . . .”

Election and Ballot Issues

Constitutional Amendment on the November ballot – Support or Oppose?

The Constitutional Amendment (CA) has much to do with crime in New Mexico and is something every voter should carefully consider. The two basic issues that it covers are: 1) Keeping the worst felons incarcerated without the option for bail until their trial; and 2) Releasing many arrestees, without bail, if their case meets certain criteria.
