Tax Increase Costs Lab $2 Million: The Bernalillo County tax hike set to begin on July 1 will add about 19 cents onto every $100 purchase of most goods and services. This increase will cost Sandia National Laboratories about $2 million a year, and an estimated $64 per household.

Breaking News: No Air Pollution Crisis in NM

What? No Air Pollution Crises in NM? Radical environmental groups have been shouting, protesting and spending thousands of dollars on advertising to say there is a toxic air pollution crisis in New Mexico. They say the crises requires a complete shutdown of the San Juan Generating Station (SJGS) because it is the largest polluter in the entire state. The fact that SJGS is the most economical source of electric power generation in New Mexico does not seem to matter. And now, the radical environmentalists have an even bigger problem. That is, the facts just don’t line up with their ‘sky is falling’ agenda. It seems the American Lung Association did not get the ‘New Mexico air pollution crises’ memo…

Tax Dollars Should Be Spent Wisely

Is it Possible Government Could Operate Like a Business? It is possible for government to be prudent with tax dollars, using common sense when paying for goods and services - just like private sector businesses manage their operations. It just doesn’t happen often enough.

And so it is, the NMBC will stand like a rock. There is much to be done in this state – for the people of this state. While we are open to new ideas that will move this state forward, the NMBC will not conform our mission to fit the agenda of whomever is in power at the time or simply ‘go along to get along’.
